Eight-time Olympic gold medalist, Usain Bolt made his debut for the Central Coast Mariners of Australia's A-League on August 31, wearing the number 95 on his back (presumably for his world record of 100 meters in 9.58 seconds). Bolt is on an "indefinite training period" with the team. The game, a preseason friendly with an amateur team, ended with a score of 6 - 1, Central Coast Mariners leading. Recently, there have been questions about whether the team will make a contract for Bolt. Mike Mulvey, Central Coast head coach, said that January would be the time for him to assess the progress of Usain Bolt. Bolt will potentially play against A-League club Macarthur South West United at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Oct. 12.
