As the new year creeps closer and closer, why not make one resolution that will possibly change your life?
Vitaminwater®, a product introduced to the market in 2000 by Energy Brands, is a naturally and artificially flavored mineral water along with sweeteners. Starting with regular vitaminwater®, expanding to vitaminwater zero®, and finally vitaminwater active®, this beverage company has undoubtedly progressed. However, now, vitaminwater® is offering a contest, especially to all of the social media fanatics out there.
The rules are simple. All you need to do is go "scroll free," except for a few frustrating confrontations with a 1996-era cellphone that will be provided by the company. To enter, you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, and a resident of the United States. He/she must have a smartphone on a daily basis before the start of the contest. As the rules explicitly say, you must not use your phone, even if it is for work or other commitments. However, employees and their families of The Coca-Cola Company, Coca‑Cola bottlers, CMGRP, Inc., dba Weber Shandwick, HelloWorld, Inc., and any agencies or other companies involved in the development or execution of the contest, are not eligible. The ultimate winner of this contest will have the opportunity to break his/her smartphone addiction, as well as $100K.
So how do you enlist? Participants can enlist from December 11, 2018, at 8:00 a.m. ET, to January 8, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. ET. You can enlist by posting a picture on Twitter or Instagram telling vitaminwater® why you need a break from your smartphone, and what you would do with all that extra time. The response must be your original work, must contain a relevant reason/response to the prompt, and should be unique. Make sure to make your account "Public," and keep the post on your page until the end of the Contest Period or else they may not be considered. However, be sure to include hashtags #nophoneforayear and #contest, or else it may all be for nothing.
So, are you up for the challenge? All you need to do is go phone-free for 365 days. It's that simple!
