So, for the next few months, I'll be telling you about my experience preparing for the Lego FIRST competition. Here's why:
I signed up for the competition for a good challenge, since I've been taking Lego Robotics classes for a year now. It turns out, it's pretty challenging. First of all, you have the heart of the competition. Building a robot to complete as many challenges in the given theme as fast as you can. The best way to do this is to make a box robot and build attachments that you can attach onto the robot and get it to complete the challenges. The next part of the competition is coming up with a problem that you want to solve that has to do with the theme. I chose the problem of space trash. Then, you have to do some research on the topic and make a poster about the problem and your proposal to solve it. The final part is making a poster on teamwork. If you're interested in hearing how this turns out, be sure to follow these articles on the FFA times and hear more about my experience with Lego FIRST.
